The owners of a private property have given the Warrensburg Fire Protection District an opportunity to complete structural firefighting training on their property. The home is vacant and is scheduled to be set ablaze as a training burn.
Firefighters received training on truck operations and hoseline advancement this evening. Crews were divided for their training with Captain Ken Smith leading one group and Captain Larry Landrus taking rotation with another. Chief Keith Hackl played the role of incident command while Assistant Chief Lloyd Buckley was the scene safety officer. Lieutenant Patrick Allen and EMS Officer Jack Pugh were on scene providing ancillary assistance during the exercise.
For the next several weeks our training nights will be spent at the property providing this valuable opportunity to our firefighters.
